Outdoor furniture doesn't always make you do a double take, but Galanter & Jones has the magic touch. Known for its sleek, sculptural heated seating, the brand teamed up with fashion designer Trina Turk to launch a limited-edition collection that’s as eye-catching as it is cozy.
Drawing on Turk’s signature use of color and Galanter & Jones’ commitment to comfort, the new pieces debuted at Palm Springs Modernism Week and are available exclusively at Trina Turk stores. It's a meeting of style and substance, inspired by friendship, sunshine, and one iconic poolside photo.
Color That Invites You In
Trina Turk’s fashion is known for fearless color, and this collection is no exception. For the collaboration, she created two desert-inspired palettes: pink and orange, and yellow and orange. Both feel like Palm Springs at golden hour. If you can't picture it yourself, imagine bright, bold, and sun-soaked.
“Collaborating on desert-inspired color combos with Galanter & Jones has been a fun foray into the outdoor furniture arena as we celebrate the 30th anniversary of Trina Turk,” shared Turk.
The collection’s name, Poolside Gossip, comes from the famous Slim Aarons photo of mid-century socialites lounging poolside at the Neutra-designed Kauffman House. It’s a lasting symbol of style, architecture, and California ease... all themes that surface in the final design.
But the colors aren’t just loud for the sake of it. When placed on the clean lines of Galanter & Jones’ Metreo loveseat, they take on a softer tone. “There’s a kind of confidence in her colors—bold, bright, joyful—that’s completely her,” shared Miranda Jones, co-founder of Galanter & Jones. “But when we placed them on the Metreo, something surprising happened. The curves softened the impact. The pieces didn’t just pop—they invited.”
Form Meets Feel-Good Function
Known for its heated furniture, Galanter & Jones draws a wide consumer base including homeowners who want to enjoy cooler nights, and corporate brands like Goop and Starbucks. With radiant heat tucked into the seat and back, so there’s no need for space heaters, blankets, or even direct sunlight. It’s the kind of quiet luxury that changes how you use your outdoor space.
“There’s a tension I love between the sculptural form and the personality that color brings,” noted Jones. “Trina’s palette made the Metreo feel more playful—but still grounded, still timeless.”
This balance is what makes the collaboration stand out. You get a seat that makes a statement, but also delivers on comfort. It encourages you to linger outside a little longer, even when the air turns cool.
Built on Friendship—and a Love of Design
What started as a creative experiment between friends became a fully formed collection that blends both brands’ sensibilities. “This collaboration is personal,” shared Jones. “It came from friendship and curiosity, and it turned into something that reflects both of our worlds—ours in form and feel, hers in color and joy. I hope people feel that when they sit down.”
There’s a subtle joy to these pieces. And you recognize it in the intention behind every detail.
“And of course, there’s the warmth,” added Jones. “It’s quiet, built right into the seat, but it changes how you experience the whole piece. That part never gets old.”
This isn’t just outdoor furniture—it’s an experience designed to brighten your day, in every sense.
