Fabuwood’s newly expanded Designer Collection puts colorful kitchen cabinet doors in the spotlight. Recently, the popular brand introduced five statement-making shades—Cabernet Red, Forest Green, Macadamia Beige, Mint Green, and Orchid Purple—crafted in collaboration with designers Kerrie Kelly, Julee Ireland, and Rydhima Shah Brar.
These colors reflect a broader shift in kitchen design, away from safe, all-white kitchens and toward personality-driven cabinetry that blends sophistication with soul.
If you're in search of kitchen cabinetry that'll flex to your personal flair, this collection hits the spot.
How is this collection different from other painted cabinets?
It isn't easy to find painted cabinets that don't feel... ordinary. I should know; when I remodeled my kitchen seven years ago, I hunted to exhaustion and then just went custom. Was it worth it? I can't say. But if Fabuwood was as around then, I think my thought process would have been different.
The manufacturer combines high-end color direction from top interior designers with Fabuwood’s semi-custom flexibility. “Fabuwood truly understands how color shapes the way we live and feel at home,” notes Ireland, understanding what truly goes into interior design.
Brar adds, “The collection beautifully reflects a shift in how people want to live now—surrounded by hues that feel both personal and elevated.” The colors are more than aesthetic—they carry mood, memory, and self-expression into everyday cabinetry.
Cabernet Red
This color brings richness and elegance, reminiscent of 1970s glam. “Cabernet Red has become a favorite for library-like work spaces, bar cabinetry, and entertainment zones,” says Kelly. “It offers a dramatic yet elegant finish.” Ireland agrees, noting, “I’m really drawn to [it]—it’s bold, rich, and such a beautifully moody statement color.”
This shade isn't just a trend; it's an anchor for designers looking to create emotional depth in a space.
“The color choices for the Designer Collection were inspired by a blend of nature, global cultural aesthetics, and the desire to bring soul and emotion back into the heart of the home,” explains Brar. Cabernet works beautifully with solid wood cabinetry and looks particularly strong against natural wood flooring or black cabinets for contrast.
Forest Green
“Forest Green has captured my heart,” shared Kelly. But this isn't the forest green you remember from the '90s. It's styled differently, and would look completely on-trend in your home. “Its depth and versatility make it equally at home in a modern farmhouse or a sleek city loft," she added. "It evokes nature, luxury, and balance all at once.”
With grounding energy and timeless appeal, it’s perfect for kitchens, pantries, and even laundry rooms.
This color also pairs well with recessed panel doors or classic shaker cabinets and really pops against white marble or Benjamin Moore neutrals.
Brar agrees, highlighting the importance of color when building a personalized space: “People are craving spaces that feel like them—full of personality, vibrancy, and layers. Bold, expressive colors are no longer just for powder rooms or accent pillows; they’re showing up in kitchens, cabinetry, and custom millwork.”
Macadamia Beige
For a soft yet elevated take on kitchen cabinet colors, Macadamia Beige delivers warmth and comfort. “These new colors speak to what people are really craving in their homes: warmth, comfort, and personality,” notes Ireland. “They feel intentional, livable, and elevated—designed for spaces that are both beautiful and deeply personal.”
Macadamia is a designer’s go-to for blending natural light, cabinet style, and even modern paint color trends without overpowering a room. Its subtle tone makes it perfect for Two-Tone cabinets or pairing with wood tones in either modern or transitional kitchen cabinet ideas. Try it with brushed cabinet hardware for a soft, tonal finish.
Mint Green
“Mint Green brings a soft yet modern twist to utility spaces like mudrooms,” says Kelly. The color works especially well in laundry rooms and sculleries, creating what Ireland calls “a unique opportunity to elevate any space in your home and truly make it your own.”
Ireland adds, “Clients are becoming more open to color, but it’s not just bold for bold’s sake. It’s thoughtful. They want cabinetry that tells a story, adds personality, and sets the tone for the space.”
Mint Green pairs well with flat panel doors, warm cabinet paint, and stainless steel appliances for a playful, clean aesthetic.
Orchid Purple
Whimsical yet refined! We think this color adds an element of surprise.
Ireland envisions using it “as an unexpected vanity color paired with matte black fixtures,” or completely color-drenched in a home office or playroom. “I have a big crush on Orchid Purple,” she says. “It’s just so fun—and it makes me happy.”
Kelly also sees its versatility: “We’re seeing incredible demand for [colors like Orchid] in pantries, laundry rooms, powder baths, and mudrooms. [It] create moments of surprise and personality throughout the home.” Orchid works beautifully in custom cabinets—especially in rooms with natural elements like stone, wood, or soft cabinet finishes.
Can these bold colors be used beyond kitchen cabinets?
You betcha. “These colors are incredibly versatile... game rooms, bars, wine spaces, children’s rooms, home libraries, and built-in office cabinetry," notes Ireland. "Really, any place you want to infuse personality or create a unique focal point.”
Brar also encourages using these cabinet colors for paneled entryways, media walls, and architectural built-ins. Many interior design pros are also using these as part of cabinet color trends across entire homes, not just in kitchens.
Are these colors only for modern homes?
Not at all. These shades work with a wide variety of cabinet styles—from traditional shaker cabinetry to sleek flat panel. They’re being paired with both painted drawer fronts and natural wood textures.
Whether you’re working with a general contractor or selecting finishes for your own custom cabinetry, the flexibility of the Fabuwood Designer Collection brings bold color to classic, transitional, and contemporary spaces alike.
