Have you ever captured spooky footage on your home's surveillance camera or video doorbell? Ring is turning the Halloween season into a paranormal party with their latest contest, The Great Ghost Search—and the winner will receive $100,000. From September 24th to November 1st, Ring users can submit their eeriest, most supernatural footage for a chance to win big! Whether you're navigating real paranormal activity or a kid who likes to dress up as a ghostbuster, everyone has a shot.
How to Enter
Participating in the Great Ghost Search is easier than spotting a shadow in the night! Just follow these simple steps:
- Record the Spookiness: Use your Ring Doorbell or Security Camera to catch all kinds of activity. Real paranormal proof like a video of ghosts, or a funny video of scary, silly costumes in costumes, both work!
- Submit Your Footage: Head to Ring’s Ghost Search Page to upload your spooky video.
- Deadline: Entries are open from September 24, 2024 until November 1, 2024 (or when 5,000 video entries are received, whichever happens first).
Judging Criteria
A panel of paranormal enthusiasts, including Stranger Things star Finn Wolfhard and paranormal investigator Katrina Weidman, will be reviewing the ghostly videos with an eye to:
- Visibility and Clarity of the ghost/ghostly activity
- Uniqueness of the entry
- Entertainment Value
- Overall Engagement of the video
The Big Prize
The lucky ghost hunter who submits the creepiest footage will take home $100,000! Whether you use it to make a down payment on a ghost-free home, buy a getaway car to escape your haunted house, or fund any other earthly expense, the cash is yours to spend.
Share Your Scares!
Don't keep the fun to yourself! Share your ghostly footage across social media and tag @Ring with the hashtag #RingGhostSearch. You might even see your video featured on Ring’s official channels.
Why Ring Loves Halloween
"Every day, we hear from our customers about surprising or unexpected footage captured by their Ring cameras." shared Mimi Swain, Chief Commercial Officer at Ring "They love the ability to stay connected to what’s happening – although paranormal sightings are understandably not the most welcome.
She adds, "[That's why] we're calling on customers to keep an eye out for any ghostly activity. If they do capture a ghost on camera, we’re going to help them escape their haunted situation."
So, whether it’s a real apparition or a huge spider taking up residence directly in front of your doorbell, fire up those Ring cameras and get ready for a spooky season like no other.
