How does sintered glass compare to traditional ceramic or stone mosaics?
Sintered glass is more durable than ceramic tiles and less porous than stone. This means it's resistant to moisture and stains (great for a kitchen backsplash or in the shower). It’s also lighter, and attaching lighter tiles is always easier than trusting the effects of gravity on heavy tiles. Plus, since it’s made from recycled materials, it’s a sustainable choice.
Can I install these mosaics myself, or do I need a contractor?
Thanks to Artaic’s labeled system, DIY installation seems completely possible. We admittedly haven't tried it ourselves, but I've done a lot of tiling over the years, and if I know one thing, it's that working with sheets of tile over individual tiles is infinitely easier for a mosaic. If you’re willing to go slowly to keep all the spacing between sheets exact, I have no doubt you can handle it yourself.
