Harmonize with Nature
Trex Outdoor Kitchens inspires by placing added emphasis on the importance of integrating the architecture and landscape — just look what they did in Bobby Berk's backyard. The celebrity interior designer reminds consumers considering outdoor kitchen design to “note the architecture of the exterior of your home and the landscape design. The details, materials, and plants that surround your outdoor living space will play a part in the overall look and feel, so it’s certainly worthwhile to integrate them into your design.”
“The Trex Outdoor Kitchen is a great combination of form and function, and incredibly durable to boot," shared Berk. "I chose the teak and midnight matte finish for the cabinetry to create contrast with all the lighter tones in the outdoor space, and bring in a modern, streamlined look that still had some warmth. I also wanted to include the handy prep sink and under-counter refrigerator so we would have everything needed for al fresco cooking and entertaining right there.”
He adds, "While I went with mostly black, white, and neutrals for my outdoor space, I do see a real interest in injecting some brighter colors into outdoor design. I’m seeing more saturated, warm tones like tangerine, fuschia, and magenta, as well as all sorts of shades of green, from bright lime to sage to deep olive. Rust tones, camel, and browns are also here to stay and can feel both retro and modern. My go-to for incorporating color outdoors has always been through accessories - like pillows, throws, planters, or patio umbrellas. They’re easy to add and low commitment, as you can change them out if you feel like switching things up."
