While Solo Stove has quickly become a household name and accessory synonymous with smokeless campfires, Breeo is another pioneer in the space — and a damn good competitor. Built in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, these are fire pits that'll "last a lifetime," and that's according to Breeo itself. Practically speaking, a lifetime is a long time, but even still, Breeo has a 5-year warranty on its product, which says a lot about its ability to resist rust and persistent high temperatures.

To give it a real test of strength and capacity, Breeo sent us products from its X Series including its X30 fire pit which measures a 30" inside diameter. From a manufacturing POV, let me tell you, it is *really* heavy-duty. Its patented X Airflow system ensures efficient combustion and a smokeless experience (yep, the same reason so many people focus on the other brand). Its materials are part of what set this product apart (hello, corten steel with its beautiful patina), and it's also functional, and a feature-rich alternative to your backyard. Here's what we liked most:

1. It Has Elaborate Cooking Features

Breeo fire pits can be outfitted with the works. They're designed with integrated cooking attachments and options such as the Outpost grill, among other products that can elevate your setup and make it more versatile for outdoor cooking. The accessories we've tested include:

  • Flat Top
  • Kettle and Kettle Hook
  • Outpost Grill
  • Searplate Griddle
  • Griddle Press
  • Skillet Rest
  • Fire Poker
  • Lid
  • Ash Shovel
  • Spark Screen

2. It Has Adjustable Height Grates

Breeo’s Outpost grill can be adjusted to different heights for better temperature control while cooking. Solo Stove does not offer this level of customization in their cooking accessories.

3. Its Corten Steel Construction is Next Level

Breeo offers fire pits made from both stainless steel and corten steel. Corten steel develops a unique and protective patina over time. Solo Stove primarily uses stainless steel and does not offer corten steel options.

4. It Uses a Patented X Airflow System

Breeo’s patented X Airflow system is specifically designed to improve combustion efficiency and reduce smoke output. This system is a unique feature that enhances the overall fire pit experience.

5. Its Seamless Design is Highly Durable

Breeo fire pits feature a seamless design that increases their durability and longevity, reducing the risk of weld points failing over time. Solo Stove uses a multi-piece construction which may be less durable in the long term.

6. It Has a Dual-Purpose Lid

Breeo offers a lid that doubles as a tabletop when the fire pit is not in use, providing additional functionality and space-saving benefits. Solo Stove’s lids are more basic and do not offer this dual-purpose feature.

7. Breeo is Available in HUGE Sizes

Solo Stove's biggest fire pit (Canyon 2.0) doesn't come close to Breeo's X-Series Fire Pits which maxes out with the X42, a fire pit that measures a 42" interior and 45" exterior frame. Neither are especially worthy of being called a "portable fire solution," by conventional portability standards, but yes, two people can comfortably relocate the X42 in a pinch. If you need a big fire pit to scale to your space, the X-series is a perfect option. Yes, it's great for traditional fires, but wow, will it take your campfire experience to new places.

8. American Craftsmanship

Breeo prides itself on being designed and built in the USA. Its operations are headquartered in Lancaster County, PA, and the founders go to great lengths to emphasize the impact of high-quality craftsmanship and their ability to support local manufacturing. "Over generations and generations, Lancaster farmers and craftsmen have built a reputation for quality," shares co-Founder Jonathan Miller. "A majority of Breeo's team members originate from Lancaster County, and we are reaping the rewards of generations of values instilled in the people of the area. Breeo cares about quality, and so does Lancaster."
